Summary of these terms of use

These terms of use apply to everyone who visits GamepadTest.pro. In short: the tests are free, they run in your browser, their results are a guide rather than a certified measurement, and brand names belong to their owners. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

About this site

GamepadTest.pro is an independent website with free tools for checking game controllers: buttons, triggers, sticks, stick drift, deadzones, vibration and polling rate. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo or any other controller manufacturer. The site is free to use and does not require an account.

Test results

The tests measure what your browser receives from the controller. Browser limits, operating system settings, drivers, other software and the way you hold and move the controller can all affect a result. Measurements such as stick drift, deadzone and polling rate are estimates and may differ from the manufacturer's figures or from specialised hardware tools. Use the results as a guide. We are not responsible for decisions made on the basis of a result, such as returning, repairing or buying a product.

Repairs

Pages on this site describe common fixes, such as cleaning a stick or replacing a stick module. Opening a controller may void its warranty and can damage it. Any repair you attempt is at your own risk.

Browser features used by the tests

The tests read controllers through the browser's Gamepad API, which only reports a controller after you press a button on it while the page is open. The vibration tests ask the browser to run the controller's rumble motors for the strength and duration you choose; you can stop them at any time. None of these features give the site access to anything outside the page, and they end as soon as you close the page.

Availability

We may change, add or remove tests at any time, for example when browsers change what they allow pages to measure. We try to keep existing page addresses working so that links and bookmarks keep pointing to the right test.

Trademarks

PlayStation, DualSense, DualShock, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and other product and brand names mentioned on the site are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility or common examples.

Our content

The text, tools and design of GamepadTest.pro are our own work. You may link to any page and quote short parts with a link back. Please do not copy whole pages or republish the tools as your own. Screenshots and recordings of test results may be shared freely, for example in a warranty claim, a repair request or a review.

Acceptable use

Do not try to disrupt the site, overload it with automated requests, or use it for anything unlawful. We may block access from sources that do.

Advertising and links

The site may show advertising and link to other sites. We are not responsible for the content, products or privacy practices of other sites or advertisers.

No warranty

The site is provided as is, without any warranty. We do our best to keep the tools accurate and available, but we do not promise that they will always be correct, complete or online. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site.

We may update these terms of use. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continued use of the site means you accept it.
